Measured to EN 13030

DataAirShield

An openness percentage is a production figure, not a flow figure. Two fabrics with the same openness can differ by a factor in pressure loss, depending on yarn thickness, weave and coating. For a CFD study only one thing counts: the measured resistance.

That is why all DataAirShield® fabric types have been tested to EN 13030 (ventilation for buildings: performance testing of louvres). The values below are the input for your consultant's flow calculation.

Fabric typeOpenness (approx.)Pressure-loss coefficient ζ [-]Flow coefficient Cv [-]Discharge-loss coefficient CD [-]
DataAirShield044 %28030.0140.014
DataAirShield055 %23850.0200.020
DataAirShield2828 %13.440.260.27

Pressure loss Δp = ζ · ½ ρ v². Cv ≈ 1/√ζ. Values to EN 13030, test reports on request. All fabric types: fire class M2 (NF P92-503) and B1 (DIN 4102-1).

Zoning per CFD zone

One fabric everywhere is rarely the optimum. With three fabric types the screen can be tuned per zone:

  • DataAirShield04 where recirculation is strongest (downwind, close to the discharge).
  • DataAirShield05 as the standard field.
  • DataAirShield28 where cavity pressure is critical (windward, near the intakes).

Intake temperature drops where it matters, without any fan moving off its operating point. We supply the data; the project's CFD consultant defines the zoning. On request we can recommend a CFD specialist.

DataAirShield zoning principle per CFD zone: 04 on the downwind edge, 05 as the standard field, 28 above the intake corridors on the windward side

Colours and dimensions

White as standard; other colours on request. Roll width 3.20 m; larger panels are high-frequency welded with a seam as strong as the fabric. Every panel is made to size from the project's 3D model.
