Market square canopy

We received the following request from our client:

"Our community is committed to re-design the Old Market. During the initial project phase the idea was to create a dismountable tent roof with fixed masts, having integrated lightning. Could we have a meeting in a short notice in our office to discuss this plan. And, important too; to discuss the costs?"

Design assignment

Due to this request we visited the client and the site. Based on this visit a design assignment was defined:

Client: Community in the south of the Netherlands

Assignment: Design of a non-removable coverage of a market square.

Requirement/requests:

1. No tension wires
2. Removable canvas
3. Surface area about 300-400 sqm
4. Construction to be erected by local people
5. Integrated lighting
6. The construction must have an aesthetic appearance with or without canvas in place:
