Air cushion roof atrium "Eyescan Oogzorgkliniek"

Buitink Technology realized an ETFE air cushion roof for the atrium of the "Eyescan Oogzorgkliniek" in Utrecht. The roof consists of 5 cushions having a total surface area of about 145 m2.

 
 
 

Heat reflecting ETFE roof

The roof consists of 4 layers of ETFE foil (so 3 air chambers). The outer layer is heat reflecting by using a special IR blocking foil.This layer is heat reflecting.

The special IR blocking foil is transparent but blocks effectively solar heat radiation.

Below graph shows the relation between Transmission and Wavelength of light for standard foil (''T Standard natural") and IR blocking foil (''T IR-cut'').
